Terms of service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These terms explain how you can use MoneyWarden and what you can expect from us. MoneyWarden is operated by 1001450555 ONTARIO INC. ("MoneyWarden", "we", "us"). By using this website, taking the assessment, or buying a product, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Educational tool, not advice

MoneyWarden helps you see what your spending costs over time. Everything it shows you, including your Freedom Margin, leak estimates, goal dates and reports, is an educational estimate based only on the numbers you enter.

  • It is not financial, investment, tax, credit, legal or accounting advice, and it isn't a recommendation to buy, sell or apply for any financial product.
  • We are not a bank, financial advisor, financial planner or credit counselor, and using MoneyWarden doesn't create a professional relationship with us.
  • Results depend on the accuracy of what you enter. We don't promise any particular savings or outcome. Examples on the site are illustrations, not typical results.
  • For decisions about debt, investing, taxes or anything with serious consequences, please talk to a qualified professional.

2. The free verdict

The free check on our website gives you a verdict on one savings goal: whether you're on track and roughly how much money leaves each month unaccounted for. It's a preview. The full Freedom Diagnostic, the hunt, your commitment and the monthly Freedom Debriefs are part of the Freedom Plan (section 5). There are no free monthly check-ins.

  • Your answers are stored in your web browser on your device, not on our servers, so we can see your verdict only if you join the Freedom Plan and it carries over. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your answers may be lost.
  • We may change, pause or end free features at any time. We will never charge you for anything unless you choose to buy it.

3. Your email

To see your verdict, you give us your email address and agree to receive emails from MoneyWarden. Along with your email, we receive a short summary of your result (your leak level and goal amount) so our emails are relevant to you. We don't receive your goal's name, your income, spending or balance figures. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

4. Digital products

The Leak Finder template is a digital download. After purchase, you'll get access to the file by email and on your order confirmation page.

  • Your license. When you buy a template, we give you a personal, non-transferable license to use it for your own household finances. You can make copies for your own use and edit them freely.
  • What you can't do. You may not resell, share, give away, publish or distribute the template or modified versions of it, or use it to provide paid services to others.
  • Software. The template works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. You need your own access to one of them.

5. The Freedom Plan

The Freedom Plan is a subscription. It includes your Freedom Diagnostic, the hunt, your commitment, a Freedom Debrief each month, and the Leak Finder template.

  • Price. Monthly: $29.99 for your first month, which includes the Leak Finder template, then $9.99 a month. Yearly: $99 a year, template included. Prices are in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes, and are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Automatic renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period and is charged to the payment method you used at checkout, until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel anytime from your account, or by emailing info@uroot.co. After you cancel, you won't be charged again, and the Leak Finder template stays yours. Our Cancellation Policy has the details.
  • Your Diagnostic, hunt and Debriefs. Every number in your reports comes from fixed formulas, and an AI assistant writes the explanation from those numbers. In the hunt, the assistant reads what you type to pick out merchant names and amounts; it never does the arithmetic and never decides what you should cut. Like everything on MoneyWarden, these are educational estimates, not advice (see section 1). We don't guarantee you'll reach your goal by any date. The check-ins, hunt notes and commitment you save are stored with your customer account. Please don't type account numbers, card numbers or passwords into the hunt.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are shown and charged in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your card issuer converts the amount and may charge a foreign transaction fee, so the amount on your statement can differ slightly from the price shown. Payments are processed securely through Shopify. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout.

7. Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

8. Using the site responsibly

Please don't misuse the site. That includes trying to access it in unauthorized ways, interfering with how it works, copying or scraping its content, or using it for anything unlawful.

9. Our content

The MoneyWarden name, logo, website, assessment, reports, templates and other content belong to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. Apart from the template license above, these terms don't give you any rights to them.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any financial decisions you make or losses you incur based on information from MoneyWarden. Our total liability for any claim relating to MoneyWarden is limited to the amount you paid us for the product the claim relates to. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

12. Age

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy from MoneyWarden.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If you keep using MoneyWarden after a change, the updated terms apply.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where the consumer protection laws of the place you live give you other rights.
