Audible has to be cancelled on the website. The app has no cancel option. Use your credits before you cancel, because unused credits are lost. Steps are as of October 2026. Menus move, so if one has, search the service’s help center for “cancel”; the current steps are usually near the top.
First, check who bills you
Look at the charge on your statement. If it says Apple, Google Play, Amazon or PayPal, the subscription is managed there, not on the service’s own site, and the cancel button on the service’s site will not be there. See cancelling Apple subscriptions or cancelling Google Play subscriptions for those. Can’t tell? Search your email for the company name plus “receipt”. The receipt names the biller.
Steps to cancel Audible
- Sign in at audible.com on a web browser (the app has no cancel option), open Account Details.
- Choose “Cancel membership” under your plan, then click through the offers to confirm.
What happens after you cancel
You keep the audiobooks you’ve already bought with credits. Unused credits are lost when you cancel, so use them first.
If the charge shows up again
Screenshot the confirmation page or keep the confirmation email. That is your proof. Check your next statement, and if the charge is still there, reply to the confirmation email first. If that goes nowhere, dispute the charge with your card issuer and attach the screenshot.
Not sure what else you are paying for?
Cancelling one subscription is a good start. It is easy to keep paying for a few you have stopped noticing. The free MoneyWarden quiz takes about three minutes and shows where your money is likely leaking. No bank login, no card needed. Take the free quiz.
